Mari Layers | graph layers
Mari Layers | Pt 5 : Graph Layers. In this episode we focus on the Mari graph layers, It’s a contained version of the full node graph that can be found in Mari 3 and onwards. We also look at the bake point node and how it can help making your projects more manageable to offload complex parts procedural and layer based texturing. happy painting
Mari 3 Layers | Procedurals
Mari procedural layers is a powerful way of making fast and generic effects. In this chapter I go through some of the basic ones and look at a real example in the form of a dirt mask made out of procedurals. Make sure to head over to Jens Kafitz site and hook yourself up with his awesome procedural nodes in the Mari Extension Pack if you have not already done so. here is a demo of his nodes and add ons....
Mari 3.x adjustment layers and stacks
Continuing the introduction to Mari 3.x series the time has now come to examine adjustment layers and stacks. I usually group effects and use the adjustment layers inside the group instead of using the adjustment stack feature. In this screen capture tutorial I look at booth scenarios and recreate a real world example of adjustment layers in Mari 3.
Mari 3.x Layers | Part 2
Continuing with layers the time has come to look at groups and layer masks in Mari 3. We can use groups in Mari to declutter and also to contain effects of layers making a material approach more manageable. We can cut away content inside a group or a layer using layer masks or layer stacks. In this video tutorial I go through the basics of groups, layer masks and layer stacks for the Mari newbie in mind. In a later tutorial I will...
Mari 3.x Layers | Part 1
Let’s examine layers in Mari 3 and some of the techniques I use when doing layer based texturing. I have to be honest, I’m not really using layers anymore since the node graph arrived. However for new users it’s good practice to learn the layer workflow before diving into the more procedural based workflow you use when doing node based texturing. I will split the layering tutorials into a few in depth screen captures...
